Operation “Cool/Hip/Trendy Brooklyn Server”
At the restaurant I work at, we don’t have a uniform. Our only dress code guideline is to look “cool, hip, and trendy in a Brooklyn way.” If you’ve got tattoos, show ‘em. If you have piercing, great. Feel free to have facial hair, whether it’s ironic or not is up to you.
After two years of black dress pants and collared shirts, I was excited to be able to wear whatever I wanted. Then I realized that most of what I wear doesn’t exactly fall into the “cool, hip, and trendy” category.
But, I like a challenge.
So, here is the result of my ongoing attempt to make customers think I’m cooler/hipper/trendier than I actually am, while still being myself. Also, I’m still trying to do more with my hair.
